Do you find yourself stuck in anger, self pity, or sadness

I wonder how long you’ve been stuck there? I wonder when you will decide to get yourself out of your rut? Recently, I have just switched over to a new insulin pump system.

The discoveries I have been making through this transition have been a really cool learning experience. I noticed that this experience has allowed me to notice where else in life I might be using the same self sabotaging coping strategies? And now I know how to get out of that sabotage so much quicker because of this learning experience! Read on! Finding ways to work out comfortably and safely with my new pump system!

The past couple of days I’ve found myself frustrated using this new pump because of the awkwardness of it when wearing certain types of clothing. I either have a big bump, it presses into my underarm area in the car, there’s no real comfortable way of wearing it when wearing a one piece outfit. The story goes on. And I let myself feel the frustration and say in my thoughts and feelings of “poor me” for a bit. And THEN I chose to shift my perspective to what this pump system IS doing for me. I am more at ease knowing it will alert me before I get too low of glucose levels, being able to go about my day more seamlessly, and avoiding hypoglycaemic seizures. And it corrects if glucose levels are rising, preventing long term future problems.

So…acknowledging the crap can mean going through the anger, bargaining, and sadness in order to get to surrendering and acceptance. And the faster I get from one to the other, the better my life is! And who doesn’t want to live a life more peacefully??
